Summer FeedingAnnouncing 2018 Summer Breakfast and Lunch Program Available to all Students and Children in the Sanger Community (This program is free to all children between the ages of 1 and 18).

Sanger Unified 2018 Summer Food Service Program Schedule

 

Sanger Unified School District is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided for all children
from 1 to 18 years of age without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex or disability,

and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
Meals will be provided on these dates at the sites and times as follows:

June 12 through July 6 (Monday - Friday): Sanger High School Breakfast: 9:00 am – 10:30 am Lunch: 10:40 am – 12:30 pm
June 12 through July 6 (Monday – Friday): Washington Academic Middle School Breakfast: 9:30 am – 10:30 am Lunch: 11:30 pm – 12:30 pm
June 12 through June 29 (Monday-Friday): Lincoln Elementary and Breakfast: 7:30 am – 8:30 am and
John Wash Elementary Lunch: 11:00am - 12:30pm

Good nutrition is essential for learning in school. Continuing healthy eating habits is also important during the long hot summer months. Eating nutritious foods helps ensure students retain their hard learned knowledge… and to help them to keep right on learning throughout the summer. For many of these children, summer vacation can bring the temptation of eating empty calorie snacks and foods that are high in sugar, fats and sodium. And for many others, summer exposes students to an increased risk of hunger and developmental decline. Make seasonal fruits and vegetables a high priority for your snacks, meals and anytime.

Summertime is a time to play hard...but it is also a time to remember to eat right. Make sure good nutrition remains a priority all summer long, and students will return to school in the Fall healthy, sharp and ready to learn.
